I studied Information Engineering in university. We studied a wide range of topics which included information processing
(transmission, receiving, encoding, decoding, encryption, compression, ...).
You can calculate the receiving reliability of modern digital transmission system, probabbly up to 0.9999999.
At such reliability, human can not detect any error happened during the transimission.
It is very difficult to calculate the receiving reliability of the communication between humans.
Let's not talk about the limitation of our languages first. Everyone has different language capability. Everyone has different expressing and interpretation capability in languages.
There are limitations in our languages too. There are a lot of words in our languages without standard definitions.
Without standard difinition, everyone can have different interpretations.
With different interpretations, misunderstandings can not be avoided.
Words which we use to express our feelings usually do not have standard definitions. We are usually familiar with most of those words. We could use those words everyday.
We think we know the meanings of those words for granted.
For example, "love". Everyone thinks they know what is love. Everyone uses "love". Some even use "love" everyday.
However, what is "love"? If you think carefully, we do not have a standard definition for this word.
Maybe "love" is too general. There are different kinds of love, such as love between parents and children, love between friends, love between man and woman, ...
If we only limit "love" between man and woman, do we have a standard definition? No, we do not. Even if you write thoudands words to explain love, you still can not define love.
How about "beauty"? Do we have a standard definition for "beauty"? No, we do not have.
If there are intrinsic limitations in our languages, and there are different humans' expressing and interpretation capabilities, misunderstandings can hardly be avoided.
For us who studied physics, we could be familiar with the scene. When we argued about something and one of us suddenly said "it is physics", if the other party agreed, then the arguement would end. Physics, as a language, can be applied to our daily life. Physics is also very close to truth.
Mathematics is a human universal language. Unlike physics, it can not always apply directly to our daily life. However, mathematics is closest to the truth. There is no controversy.
In terms of information processing, you can not compress anymore.
Every mathematics equation or theory is simple and beautiful.
